Football is comprised of players, and the best players have high skill levels, understand the rules and develop unique strategies. Use the right equipment. There’s too much of an injury risk. Don’t have the right supplies? Don’t play! Not only could you suffer broken bones, but there is even a chance of paralysis. These things may prevent you from ever playing again.
Work on drills intended to boost agility. Agility is one of the most important skills for any football player. They must be in order to not get tackled and make extraordinary catches. Do all that you can to increase your skills here. Try jumping rope or running through tires.

Field Goal
Your team will score extra points if you’re able to kick field goals. Try a field goal attempt on fourth down when in the kicker’s range. Only do this when the team if near enough that the kicker can get the ball through the uprights in the end zone. A successful field goal will net you three points.
Put five cones about five yards away from each other to improve hip flexibility. Begin at one end and zigzag through the cones, running at top speed. Lean towards the direction you seek to go, and do so while your head is up but your eyes are downfield.
If you only play at half your ability, expect to see mediocre results. If you play halfheartedly, you will be disappointed in your performance and your team may lose. Use whatever passion you feel to work toward getting a win.
Running Area
If you’re a receiver, speed and quickness are very important. To increase speed, create a running area that’s specifically defined. Place two cones 10 yards apart for your running area. Sprint really fast from cone to cone and keep track of your time. Keeping track of your time will help you see if your speed is improving. Quick, powerful sprints are a vital part of being a good football player.
Be sure to keep an eye on the clock and use every minute to help your team. Knowing how to run the clock down and knowing how to conserve time are both important factors.
If you want to be a better quarterback, you need to improve your footwork. Good footwork is important to a quarterback because time is of the essence and every step counts. Learn to backpedal and twist as well as possible.
Outside Linebackers
You should know what a defensive team’s basic positions are. On defense there are eight players. They are the following: defensive tackle, defensive end, nose tackle, 2 outside linebackers, 2 safety players and cornerback. In some cases, a 4-3 game will have only one linebacker and two people playing as outside linebackers. Then, in some 3-4 games, there will be two people playing as inside linebackers and another two people who will be outside linebackers. Safety positions include free safety and strong safety.
