When you own a home, there are not many things that can be more annoying than a pest invasion. Pests can come in a number of disguises. They may be insects, vermin or other nuisances. Some of them, like termites, can even damage your home. This advice includes ways to rid yourself of these pests for good.
Keep pests out of your home by using a perimeter spray outside. You will need to spray near the windows and doors, any porches, steps, and along the foundation. While you’re doing this, look for crevices and crack that could allow pests entry to your home. Seal up these areas using caulk.
Are you having problems with ants around the house? You can remove them by creating a mixture of borax and sugar. While they are attracted to the sugar, they will be killed by the borax. To create this mixture, get yourself a quart jar, and use a cup of sugar and a cup of borax. Poke holes through the lid to allow you to sprinkle it around the foundation and baseboards.
It can be awfully hard to eliminate fleas, but there are a few good tips to help you get rid of both the fleas and their eggs. First, you should vacuum every single day. Once you do this, use a flea spray. Be sure that you get rid of every vacuum bag that you use as soon as you are done.
Even if your home doesn’t show any issues, check the entire thing on occasion. Include checking underneath the house when looking for pests. Check out your basement and any other underground area.
Try to block out mosquitoes from coming into your living area. Eliminate standing water anyplace you can. Mosquitoes are able to breed in areas with even only a few drops of water.
If you’ve got pets, avoid mouse or rat poison. A dog or cat can easily ingest poisons that are on these rodents if they should happen to catch one. Poison and other dangerous chemicals are a problem if you have young children. Kids may think the pellet is candy.
Steel Wool
Put some steel wool in any holes so rodents cannot crawl through. They will die after trying to eat into the steel wool. Put some spackle on the holes with steel wool to keep rodents away.
No matter the type of pests, be sure to eliminate them quickly. Using the above tips will help you with pest control efficiently. Keep these tips in mind and get rid of pests quickly.
